Turning Dreams In To Reality

May 07, 2024

So you've got big dreams for your business...awesome!  Dreams alone don't cut it though.  You need a blueprint, a solid plan to turn those dreams into tangible wins.

Treat planning time like a VIP appointment – non-negotiable and sacred. Block out a specific chunk of time in your calendar each week dedicated solely to planning. Whether it's Monday mornings or Friday afternoons, find a slot that works for you and stick to it. Make planning time feel like a special ritual rather than a chore. Brew your favorite cup of coffee, light a scented candle, or put on your favorite tunes to set the mood. The goal is to make it enjoyable and something you look forward to.  AMAZING....now you have a plan!

Break those goals down.  There's nothing like being overwhelmed by tasks that seem unmanageable.  I get granular and break it down in to daily tasks that will help me achieve goals that might even take months to achieve.  Focus on what you can do TODAY to get you closer to where you want to be.

What now?  You've got a plan.  Should be easy to just get going right?  Not always.

Do you ever experience procrastination or analysis paralysis?  Me too!  Here are some of my best strategies for overcoming this...

  1. Set Clear Deadlines: Break your tasks into smaller, actionable steps and assign deadlines to each one. Having a clear timeline creates a sense of urgency and helps prevent procrastination!

  2. Use the 5-Second Rule: Ever heard of Mel Robbins?  I'm sure you have! When you find yourself hesitating or overthinking, count down from five and then take immediate action. This simple technique interrupts negative thought patterns and propels you into motion before doubts creep in.
  3. Limit Distractions: Identify and eliminate or minimize distractions that derail your focus. Whether it's turning off notifications, finding a quiet workspace, or using website blockers, create an environment conducive to productivity.  SO EASY and effective!

  4. Accountability Partners: Share your goals and progress with a trusted friend, colleague, or mentor who can hold you accountable. Say it out loud!  Regular check-ins and encouragement from others can provide the extra push you need to stay on track.  This is why I love group programs so much too!

  5. Reward Yourself: Create a system of rewards for completing tasks or reaching milestones. I'll never say no to this 😉

  6. Adopt a Growth Mindset: Embrace challenges as opportunities for growth rather than obstacles. By shifting your perspective from fixed to growth-oriented, you'll be more resilient in the face of adversity and more willing to take action despite uncertainties.  Let's refine those problem solving skills and figure out a way to deal with the situation!

Would love to hear your feedback on this one!
