The Small Business Insider's Guide to Saving Time with Trello
Mar 25, 2024Imagine a world where sticky notes and endless email threads are a thing of the past. That's Trello. I cannot say enough about this planning tool. It was literally a life saver during my most recent program launch, but it's such a game-changer for all types of businesses. I used it while running my retail store as well and knew it would come through for me now too!
Here are my top five reasons to use a planning tool:
1. Goodbye, Endless Email Chains
Remember the last time you tried to find that one specific email with crucial details about your upcoming sale? Yeah, not fun. With Trello, I created a central hub for all the moving parts of my projects. Every detail is pinned on a card, easily searchable, and never buried under a pile of unread emails.
2. Hello, Organization
For my recent launch, I set up a board just for myself and another to share with my graphics/web designer. No more back-and-forth calls or texts. We had a shared space to collaborate, drop files, and tick off tasks as we completed them. You can create checklists and drop screen shots in there too so nothing ever goes missing!
3. A Time Saver
The real magic of Trello is in the time it saves. By having a clear overview of what needs to be done, by whom, and by when, I slashed my planning and execution time dramatically. It meant more time to focus on creating an exceptional experience for my new clients....and extra me time too 😉
4. Instant Updates and Notifications
One of the most significant advantages is the instant update feature. Whenever a task is updated, completed, or needs attention, Trello sends out notifications to all involved. This means everyone is on the same page, in real-time, drastically reducing the lag that can happen in a busy business environment. It ensures that urgent tasks are promptly addressed and that the project moves forward without delay.
5. Customizable for Any Project
Trello’s power lies in its flexibility. You can customize it to fit any project or business task. I not only use it for program launches but also for task management. You can create custom labels, lists, and cards and it adapts to your business needs, not the other way around. You can even get fancy and use integrations with other apps. I'm still basic when it comes to using this tool....but even basic is AMAZING!!!
How Trello Transformed My Business
Using Trello didn't just streamline the processes; it transformed the way I work. It creates a visual roadmap of my projects, making it easy to see the big picture and how the work of key team members fits into it. It freed up my inbox and my mind!! THE BEST! With everything and everyone in one spot, the mental load of remembering every little detail was lifted, letting me focus on what I do best.
I feel like I might need to become an affiliate, I love this tool so much! 😆
