Smart Strategies for the Overwhelmed Entrepreneur
Jan 23, 2024Are you feeling overwhelmed, like there's never enough time in the day? You're not alone!! This was me 5 years ago and I decided ENOUGH WAS ENOUGH!
Here's the good news: it's possible to reclaim your time freedom!
1. Automate Repetitive Tasks -Opting to automate our back-in-stock alerts was a game-changer. It liberated my team from daily calls and texts to customers, boosting productivity and sales. A money saver (in staff time) and a money generator (in sales).
2. Delegate and Build a Trusted Team Building a reliable team is essential for successful delegation. Recognizing that some team members were not in their ideal roles led to a strategic reshuffle. It was a gradual process, taking months to align everyone's strengths with the right positions. Some employees even had to go unfortunately. BUT...this was the 🔑 to success with delegation. I went from doing MOST of the things to do very FEW of the things, while overseeing the function of the entire operation.
3. Set Clear Boundaries and Work Hours I started by drawing the line for myself, then worked on getting my team on board. It was about giving my personal life the respect it deserved, saying no to the 7-day workweeks and working through vacations. Chatting with my team about these new boundaries was imperative and of course, it's much easier when you've got the right people to count on.
4. Prioritize Tasks and Learn to Say No I used to say yes to every opportunity, overwhelming myself constantly. I learned to prioritize tasks based on their impact on my business goals. You can start asking yourself these questions...
"Does this align with my long-term business goals? What is the urgency and impact of this task? Can this task be delegated or automated?"
My goal was not just to work less, but to work efficiently, creating space for growth AND a life!!
